'Avante Garde' in Gallery 90
Arnold artist among those featured in new exhibit at Hospice of the Chesapeake

A new exhibit by the Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) is now in place at Hospice of the Chesapeake’s Gallery 90; the art gallery located throughout the nonprofit’s administrative building on the John & Cathy Belcher Campus at 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD.
This limited showing titled “Avante Garde” is on display until Jan. 15, 2016, and features the work of local artists in a variety of mediums. There will be free docent-led tours offered at 2 p.m. Nov. 19 and Dec. 10 and from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 7.

At the end of the Jan. 7 tour, participants can enjoy a glimpse into the creative process of mixed media artist Angela Petruncio of Arnold, MD. Petruncio, who works with found and altered objects, will be on hand to talk about her finished work as well as a piece in progress.
She said most of her work is narrative, including one in the “Avante Garde” exhibit, ‘Inner Workings of The Universe.’ “It is human nature to want to understand our role in the infinite,” Petruncio said. “We try to make the vastness of this question more approachable by applying familiar concepts like religion, science, math and art to it, making the Great Unknown more knowable.”
