Man Swerving in Traffic Charged with DUI, Drugs; Had Kids in Car

Inside the vehicle were Joshua Osterholt's two children—a four-year-old and a 10-month-old.

A 31-year-old Glen Burnie man whose car almost hit a police cruiser has been charged with drug possession and driving while intoxicated with a 4-year-old and a baby in the car.

Anne Arundel County police Saturday charged Joshua Stephen Osterholt with driving while intoxicated, possession of drugs with intent to distribute and reckless endangerment.

Police said Osterholt's vehicle almost struck a police cruiser, and authorities caught up with the vehicle in the 7800 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard.

Inside the vehicle were Osterholt's two children—a 4-year-old and a 10-month-old, according to police.

After police detected an odor of alcohol and marijuana, the vehicle was searched, leading to the seizure of 89 grams of marijuana, estimated at a street value of $1,900, according to a news release.

Osterholt later tested for a .19 blood-alcohol content, police said. The legal limit in Maryland is .08.

The suspect's vehicle was seized by police, and the two children were turned over to their grandmother, according to the release.
