Two Broadneck High Students Finalists for Student Board Seat

Two Broadneck High students are among the finalists to serve on the Anne Arundel County Board of Education next school year as its lone student member.Â
Scott Lanoue and Else Drooff, both of Broadneck High School, will be two of three students who could have their name forwarded to Gov. Martin O'Malley for appointment to the board.Â
The other student candidate is Wilglory Tanjong, who is currently a junior at Arundel High School.

All three students will take part in a candidates session on Wednesday, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the board room of Anne Arundel County Public Schools offices in Annapolis.Â
The Chesapeake Regional Association of Student Councils will vote on April 5 to determine which name to forward to O'Malley, who will make the final appointment.

The student board member has full voting rights and serves a one-year term. The position comes with a $6,000 college scholarship.
