School:  Broadneck High School

Accomplishment(s):  These students were selected by auditions throughout the entire county to perform in the Anne Arundel All-County Jazz Band Concert at Meade High School last weekend under the direction of Philip Butts.

Nominator:  “This weekend, a tremendous concert took place at Meade High School. Many of the students performed remarkable solos on such classics as:  “My Way,” “Ain't Misbehaving,” “Prelude to a Kiss” and “Back Row Politics.” Matt Heist, Band Director at Broadneck, served as the All-County Jazz Band Manager and BHS had the largest number of students from any other school (10 out of 20 total performers) represented.  --Andy Gabor
