YARRR: New Broadneck Park Playground has Pirate Flair
The old playground will be torn down and replaced with a brand new one this summer.
The new Broadneck Park playground, set to be completed this summer, will be pirate themed.
A new design for the playground was on display at the second-annual Broadneck Kite Festival on Sunday. Construction at the playground will begin over the summer, and shouldn't take more than a few weeks to complete, said Friends of Broadneck Park spokesperson Kara McGuirk-Allison.
The existing structure will be removed and replaced with the design shown, she said. The Broadneck mom helped create a fundraiser to generate money for the new playground.

"I definitely think there will be a lot of pirate-themed birthday parties in our neighborhood from now on," McGuirk-Allison said.
