- On Jan. 23, Baltimore County Police identified the 15-year-old boy who was shot and killed in Windsor Mill on Jan. 21 as Lamar M. Leslie-Allen. Catonsville Center for Alternative Studies Principal John Klug sent a letter to students and parents on Jan. 22 informing them a 10th-grade student had died. A Baltimore County Public Schools spokesperson later confirmed that the letter was about Leslie-Allen. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun; Free: WBAL-TV)
- In an email on Monday, Jan. 23, Baltimore County Schools Superintendent Darryl L. Williams said he will not seek another four-year contract. Hours before the email, multiple area organizations shared letters they sent to Baltimore County Schools Board of Education members asking for a new superintendent. - Since March 2020, more than 2,000 Baltimore County residents have died from COVID-19.Baltimore County is asking for community input on a new COVID-19 memorial, named the "mending wall," in the Mt.
