2 Workers Trapped In Baltimore Co. Trench Collapse
Firefighters from Baltimore City and Howard County are helping Baltimore County teams rescue two workers trapped in a trench in Catonsville.

CATONSVILLE, MD — Firefighters from Baltimore City and Howard County are helping Baltimore County teams rescue two construction workers trapped after a trench in Catonsville collapsed Friday.
Baltimore County fire officials said crews were called around 11:37 a.m. to the 500 block of Academy Road for a technical rescue.
About 3 p.m. the Baltimore County Fire Department said on X, formerly Twitter, "The scene remains active. … BG&E was requested and on scene."

The workers are trapped beneath a wall in a six-foot trench, FOX Baltimore reported.
Officials say they have to slowly remove the wall to reach the workers, who are "extremely critical condition," police said Friday afternoon, according to the FOX station.

"We received a call in regards to individuals trapped in a trench," Baltimore County fire Lt. Twana Allen told WBAL TV. "There were two construction workers that were reinforcing a wall and the wall collapsed on them."
