Here are the top three stories today in Catonsville:

  1. Mifepristone, or "the abortion pill," will now be available as a standard prescription from retail pharmacies. Before this, abortion pills for medication abortions could only be dispensed from a certified provider. Abortion clinic providers, including Whole Woman’s Health from Catonsville, are in support of this move. Not all pharmacies are willing to sell the pill to customers. (The Baltimore Banner)
  2. Curious about the history of American food and cooking? Learn about early American cooking with cultural historians in this fascinating Cooking in the Cabin class. On Jan. 21 at 2:00 p.m., you can watch experts demonstrate classic cooking techniques. The class will be held at Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum and is free. (Patch)
  3. Today, the Wilkens Police & Community Relations Organization (WPCRO) is holding its monthly meeting. These take place on the second Tuesday of the month from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in nearby Arbutus. The meetings will cover policing issues and recognize superior police officers. Precinct residents are invited to join up and support the local police. The next session will be held on Feb. 13. (Patch)
