Afro-Peruvian Musical Group Will Perform, Chat With BCPS Students
Afro-Peruvian musical group Lundú will perform and chat with Baltimore County Public Schools students on Nov. 9.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Afro-Peruvian musical group Lundú will perform and chat with Baltimore County Public Schools students on Nov. 9.
The performance is part of BCPS' World Culture in Context series, coordinated with Creative Alliance. It is free for students and anyone who wishes to attend via Zoom.
Lundú "explores the Indigenous and African roots of Peruvian music and celebrates the important role of female musicians in Peru," the school district said in a news release. The musical group will be broadcasting from the city of Arequipa, in Peru.

The musicians will also perform in-person in March 2022.
The World Culture in Context initiative "connects students to renowned artists from across the globe performing in the places that have profoundly impacted their work, accompanied by virtual, live conversations about creativity, belonging and culture." The series was launched in November 2020 by the BCPS Office of Social Studies and Department of Career and Technical Education and Fine Arts, and the Baltimore-based Creative Alliance.
