- Yesterday, Jan. 5, Baltimore County officials announced a plan to pay for damage caused by climate change, which includes establishing a Resilience Authority and getting nearly $2 million to help Turner Station — a historically-Black neighborhood in the eastern part of the county. In December, the county council approved paying consultant Throwe Environmental LLC to help create the Resilience Authority, which would find money to pay for projects related to climate change. Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski said, "A Resilience Authority will allow Baltimore County to proactively research and establish dedicated financial resources to projects to reduce flooding and damage to county and community infrastructure."
