  1. Baltimore County's law department has decided not to sue fossil fuel companies over climate change and its impact on the county. When the proposal to hire the law firm to sue the companies went before the Baltimore County Council, Catonsville Democrat Councilman Tom Quirk and others expressed concern over the contract. The county dropped the proposal, but remains "fully committed to exploring every opportunity to mitigate the impact of greenhouse gas emissions on our residents and communities," according to a statement from Erica Palmisano, a spokeswoman for County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
  2. Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in Baltimore County. On Nov. 19, 52-year-old Joseph Russell Thomas II of New York was wearing a fluorescent vest and attempting to assist another truck driver on I-95 South in nearby White Marsh when he was struck by a 2007 BMW 328i that crossed the solid white line. (Maryland State Police)
  3. A Baltimore County family told WJZ they were given 30 days to pay a nearly $2,800 E-ZPass bill. Robert Loudermilk said they will owe more than $14,000 if they do not pay the balance before the due date. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) had a nine-month grace period waving civil penalties for video tolls which ends on Nov. 30. Loudermilk said, "I was working during COVID. I could have paid all this throughout the time. Send me weekly bills. Not this. Not this way. Not a trap, you know?" An MDTA spokesperson said the MDTA sent out regular notices about the grace period and video toll balances were posted online in September. (CBS News)
