- The Baltimore County Police Department launched an online tool for recruiting: an entire website dedicated to potential applicants. The project began in the spring of 2022 with efforts from the information technology office as well as project contractor Renegade Production Studios. The recruiting website allows applicants to directly connect with members of the Baltimore County Police Department's employment section. (Nottingham MD)
- A Baltimore County couple is facing fines of almost $5,000 for their pet rooster, Wilbur. Jackie and Drew Tanenbaum, who live in nearby Parkton, say a neighbor is not fond of Wilbur's early morning crowing and has filed complaints. Drew Tanenbaum said, "The county has now issued us two citations, one for $150 and a second one for $4,650. It's essentially $150 for every alleged crow that Wilbur makes that our neighbor was able to document." A hearing is set for Jan. 24 on Wilbur's noise level. (WBAL TV)
- Richard K. Impallaria, 60, a former member of the Maryland House of Delegates who represented parts of Baltimore County, pleaded guilty on Friday. Impallaria will pay Maryland $44,100 in restitution and will perform 100 of community service for one count of misconduct in office. The charge stemmed from the misuse of state funds where Impallaria was allegedly paying for a district "office" with state funds next to a personal cottage rental – both being out of his district.
