Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:
- To honor women for their outstanding contributions to the community, the Baltimore County Commission for Women is seeking nominations for its 40th annual Women of the Year Awards. Each year the Baltimore County Commission for Women accepts nominations for "Woman of the Year," "Young Woman of the Year" and "Woman Making a Difference" awards.Nominations are open until Feb. 28, 2022. - Police officers have recovered a gun brought onto the campus Kenwood High School in Essex. This incident is one of many that have occurred in a Baltimore County school and has some community members asking for a more visible police presence. The Kenwood incident follows a shooting at Catonsville High School last week. So far this school year, guns have been recovered from both Woodlawn and Chesapeake high schools. (WBAL TV Baltimore)
- On Thursday (Feb. 17), weather officials issued a Winter Weather Advisory in the Catonsville area that will last through 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Although the advisory will end on Friday morning, the weekend will bring cold, gusty wind with temperatures dropping as low as 16 degrees on Saturday night. (Catonsville Patch)
