Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:

1. On Friday, Jul. 22, incumbent Scott Shellenberger gained a narrow lead over Robbie Leonard in the Baltimore County state's attorney race. As of Jul. 22, more than 28,000 mail-in ballots still need to be counted in Baltimore County. (Baltimore Sun)
2. According to a new report by WalletHub, Maryland is the fourth safest state in the country for teen drivers. The ranking was based on safety, economic environment, driving laws, teen driver fatalities, the average cost of car repairs, and more. Maryland received a total of 62.51 points out of 100 possible points. (Maryland Patch)
3. On Sunday, Jul. 31, anyone over the age of 10 can learn about Banneker's kitchen garden in the 18th century, how to dry herbs, and how to make a sachet. The free event starts at 1:00 p.m. at the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum, located at 300 Oella Avenue in Catonsville. Registration is required. (Catonsville Patch)
