Here are the top three stories today in Catonsville:

  1. During his first formal news conference, Interim Baltimore County Police Chief Dennis Delp addressed what the Baltimore County Police Union calls an increase in crime in the county. Delp said the perception of increased crime may have to do with the live data, which includes incidents that are unfounded and false reports that are taken out later. According to police, there has been a 37 percent decrease in homicides in Baltimore County since last year; however, there has been a six percent increase in non-fatal shootings. (Fox Baltimore)
  2. Today, Dec. 15, is the Baltimore County Enterprise-Wide Career Fair at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Catonsville. Starting at 10:00 a.m., the Baltimore County Fire Department, Baltimore County Emergency Management, Baltimore County Public Schools, Baltimore County Police Department, and many more will be participating in the job fair. (Baltimore County)
  3. Tomorrow, Dec. 16, Benjamin Banneker Planetarium presents "What Was the Christmas Star?" from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Catonsville. Deacon David Ludwikoski, a physical science instructor teaching astronomy and earth science at the CCBC’s Catonsville campus and a deacon at Our Lady of Victory in Arbutus, will talk about the Christmas Star and plausible explanations for the celestial display that beckoned the Wise Men.
