Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:

  1. The Baltimore County Police Department is investigating threats at two Baltimore County high schools. Yesterday, Nov. 18, there was an increased police presence at Towson High School after a threat was emailed to several members of the school community. Additional officers were also at Eastern High School due to potential "threatening behavior" of an Eastern High School student. (Fox Baltimore)
  2. The Baltimore County Public Library (BCPL) is in the process of renovating many of its libraries in the next couple of years, including the Catonsville branch. According to BCPL's communications officer Emily Williamson, construction on the Catonsville branch will begin in March 2023 and last for about 12 months. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
  3. Debbie Sorrells, the mother of fallen Baltimore County police officer Amy Caprio, wrote a children's book titled, "The Story of the Dragonfly." The book was written to help kids learn how to deal with grief and to teach them that death is not the end. Sorrells said, "Memories can keep a person alive. A symbol, perhaps, can be a trigger to remind them and remind you that Officer Amy is still there with you. She's still working." (WBAL-TV)
