- Baltimore County Police Department released new images of the suspect(s) wanted in connection with a homicide in Catonsville. On Jan. 13, 2022, 27-year-old Diamond Trueheart was shot and killed while leaving the Salontra Select Suites in the 5400 block of Baltimore National Pike. Police know that numerous patrons were in the parking lot of the Catonsville Plaza Shopping Center at the time of the incident and ask anyone who recognizes the individuals or vehicle (2000 Acura TL) to contact homicide detectives at (410) 887-3943. - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration began a project to repair bridge decks and parapets on 10 bridges in the nearby Arbutus area of southwestern Baltimore County. It is expected to cost $39.8 million to repair the 10 bridges at the I-95 interchange with I-695. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
- Implementation of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, a $3.8 billion education policy, and access to funding will begin this school year. Melissa Lembo Whisted, Blueprint coordinator and executive director of Academic Services for Baltimore County Public Schools, said the Baltimore County district hopes to use the funding to make community schools mobile with "tutoring services, a spot where parents and family members can go and build their resume up for jobs, it could include dental consultation, visits, or medical consultation visit."
