- On Tuesday, Feb. 21, Catonsville High School student Sean Potter was sentenced to 16 months in jail for the shooting at the CHS campus parking lot last year. Potter, now 19, pleaded down to misdemeanor charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree assault and possessing a firearm as a minor after originally being indicted on attempted murder and first-degree assault. Potter could be released sometime this summer due to credit for time served since Feb. 10, 2022. (WMAR 2 News)
- Western School of Technology and Environmental Science in Catonsville will offer an artificial intelligence program starting in the fall, with a curriculum that includes students programming robotic dogs. The Maryland State Department of Education has approved Baltimore County Public Schools’ plans for the course, titled 'Computer and Information Sciences Artificial Intelligence,' in the 2023-2024 school year as one of its career and technical education (CTE) offerings. The program will also be available at two other Baltimore County Public Schools in the fall: George Washington Carver Center for Arts & Technology and Sollers Point Technical High School. - Baltimore County police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy on Moday night, Feb. 20, in nearby Towson. Tre'shaun Harmon was shot multiples time while walking on East Joppa Road near Delaware Avenue and later died in the hospital. Detectives hope witnesses and security camera video will help the investigation and ask anyone with information to call 410-307-2020. Andrea Zabel, a Towson resident, said the area has changed from "the nice, little community of Towson as the county seat" to "a city and we're experiencing some of the same scary situations a city might have versus a suburb, which is usually quieter."(WBAL-TV)

- Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) and Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) are hosting the 'College Fair 2023.' More than 100 universities, colleges, proprietary schools, and military schools will be represented. One fair will take place at CCBC Dundalk on Mar. 14 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wellness and Athletics Centern. The other fair is on Mar. 15, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Jack Manley Wellness and Athletics Center at CCBC Catonsville.(CCBC MD via Twitter)
