Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:

  1. Learn about the celebration of Kwanzaa around a campfire at the "Kwanza Night of Purpose Campfire" on Friday, Dec. 30 at 5:30 p.m. The event will be held at Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum, 300 Oella Ave. in Catonsville. This is a free event and is open to the public. (Catonsville Patch)
  2. The Catonsville Chamber of Commerce is hosting a contest to find a new logo for Frederick Road Fridays, Catonsville's free community-loved event. The logo should be fun and should capture the true essence of Frederick Road Fridays. Submit PDF entries to chamber@catonsville.org by Monday, Jan. 30, 2023. The public will vote for entries on social media and the Frederick Road Fridays Committee will choose the winner. The winner will receive a gift card bundle to local establishments. (Catonsville Chamber of Commerce via Facebook)
  3. As of Dec. 27, Baltimore County residents can dispose of their Christmas trees by dropping them off at one of three locations. The closest location for Catonsville residents is the Western Acceptance Facility, located at 3310 Transway Road in Halethorpe. Details about the two other locations and how to prepare the tree for disposal are available on Fox Baltimore. Residents can also recycle their Christmas tree beginning Jan. 9. (Fox Baltimore)
