  1. A major renovation project at Baltimore County Public Library's Catonsville Branch, located at 1100 Frederick Road, is set to begin in mid-March. Construction will last for about 12 months. The branch's last day for customers before renovations is Feb. 18. Baltimore County Public Library CEO Sonia Alcántara-Antoine said renovations include "critical building updates" and "a recording studio with recording and mixing booths" that will allow "our customers to record music, podcasts, and more for free." Catonsville Branch customers can use the Arbutus Branch, located at 855 Sulphur Spring Road, or any of BCPL's 19 locations during construction. (BCPL)
  2. Yesterday, Jan. 19, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski announced his annual series of signature Town Hall budget meetings. Constituents can join the public discussion and share their ideas and priorities for Baltimore County's 2023 FY24 budget. There will be seven meetings, one for each district. The 1st District Town Hall will take place on Wednesday, Mar. 8, at CCBC Catonsville Center for the Arts Building, 360 Campus Drive in Catonsville. The Community Cabinet Open House begins at 6:00 p.m. and the Town Hall begins at 6:30 p.m. All the budget town hall meetings will also be live-streamed on Baltimore County Government’s YouTube page. 3. The Catonsville varsity girls basketball team won 20 to 19 against Towson on Jan. 18. The Comets rallied after a halftime deficit and ended Towson's four-game winning streak. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
