- Catonsville resident August Candeloro III, known as "Nick," 35, was sentenced to 15 years in
federal prison followed by lifetime supervised release after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography. Candeloro was already registered as a sex offender due to two previous convictions of a second-degree sex offense in both Howard County and Baltimore County Circuit Courts. (Nottingham MD) - The website 24/7 Tempo created a list of the "best bakery in every state," based on articles and rankings from many local, regional, and national websites including Eater, Taste of Home, Business Insider, and many more. The Breadery in Catonsville, located at 418 Oella Ave., was named the best bakery in Maryland, with the French baguette as its specialty. (24/7 Wall St.)
- At a Mar. 1 meeting, the Board of Public Works (BPW) considered and approved multiple requests and recommendations for Baltimore County. Some of the items included a $125,000 grant to St. Luke’s Affordable Housing, a $300,000 grant to the Board of Directors of Catonsville Emergency Assistance, Inc. for the Catonsville Emergency Assistance facilities, and a $3,500,000 loan from the Department of Housing and Community Development to build an 84-unit age-restricted community for low-income households under the Rental Housing Works Program. Grants to the Baltimore County Board of Education were also approved, one for $250,000 for Hereford High School's tennis courts and one for $150,000 for a playground at Warren Elementary.
