Here are the top three stories today in Catonsville:

  1. Yesterday, the Veterans for Peace, Phil Berrigan Memorial Chapter, gathered at the Catonsville Knights of Columbus Hall to commemorate the Vietnam draft file-burning action in 1968. The group honored Phil Berrigan and his eight colleagues, the "Catonsville Nine," who played an important role in the anti-war movement. (Fox Baltimore)
  2. Kristen DeBoy Caminiti, who grew up in Catonsville, is the founder and president of Kindness Grows Here. The non-profit was created in 2016 to spread random acts of kindness in local communities. Youths, ages 5 to 18, who present an idea on how to spread kindness can receive the "Kid Kindness Grants" which range from $250 for individuals to $700 for groups. Caminiti said, "Simple ideas can spread kindness. It does not have to be a huge gesture. We’re looking for that person-to-person connection." (Baltimore Sun)
  3. Catonsville High School won fourth place in the Baltimore County public schools girls track meet yesterday. Catonsville's Myla Abernathy won the 800 (2:16.2), 1,600 (5:04.24) and 3,200 (10:56.67). (Baltimore Sun)
