  1. On Wednesday morning, Mar. 8, Baltimore County fire crews extinguished a small fire at a Catonsville nursing home. The fire was on the exterior of the home at the 2200 block of Pleasant Villa Avenue. No injuries were reported. (Fox Baltimore)
  2. Baltimore County officials announced that the county is working with the Maryland nonprofit organization Oyster Recovery Partnership to locate and remove abandoned crab pots, called “ghost pots,” and other fishing debris from the Chesapeake Bay for the second year in a row. The upper/northern portion of the bay is located at Baltimore's Inner Harbor, which is about 8.7 miles from Catonsville. Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski said, "Removing and recycling this debris is a vital project for the health of our waterways" and "in removing thousands of derelict crab pots, we not only protect and improve the environment, but we do so in a way that also supports those who depend on the Bay for their livelihood." 3. The Catonsville Cooperative Market's next vendor pop-up celebration is on Tuesday, Mar. 14, during the regular market at 1905 Edmondson Avenue. Vendors that plan to attend include BeeLoved, Casa Figlia, Kora Lee's Cafe, and more. The non-member fee of $5 will be waived and attendees can shop for unique novelties made by local artisans from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at no cost. (Catonsville Patch)
