- The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is a member of Universities Studying Slavery, where they discuss the histories of human bondage and racism in their institutions. The Catonsville campus was a plantation run by slave labor for more than 120 years and many of its buildings, like the Hilton Mansion, were built by slaves. Clara Weaver, a 19-year-old student at CCBC, is part of the school’s invisible history project which "tells stories that either have been hidden or haven’t been told." (WYPR)
- The 161st Recruit Class of the Baltimore County Police Department graduated at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24. The ceremony was held in the Theatre at CCBC-Essex, located at 7201 Rossville Blvd., 21237. Police Chief Melissa R. Hyatt addressed the recruits and the oath of office was administered by The Honorable Julie Ensor, Clerk of the Circuit Court. (Press Release Desk)
