Chamber Commerce Elects New Officers at Holiday Party
Sally Griffin starts three-year term as president.
Members and friends of the Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce celebrated the end of the year on Wednesday afternoon at the chamber's annual holiday party.
George Brookhart, founder of Maryland Residential Realty, finished up his one-year term as president of the chamber at the event. Sally Griffin of Coldwell Banker officially takes over Jan. 1 as president. She has been serving as vice president for the past year.
Griffin credited Brookhart for "having an energy and passion in Catonsville that inspires all."

In his letter in the chamber's 2010 annual report, Brookhart said he is optimistic about the future.
"I see great opportunities for Catonsville to attract new businesses and retail shops. Others are starting to stand up and take notice of our town and for good reason so let's capitalize on this," he wrote.

The following members were elected to the board for a one-year term as officers: Sally Griffin, president; Ellen Hemmerly, vice president; Brian Wolfe, treasurer and Beverly Wright as secretary.
Five board members were also elected to serve another three-year term: Larry Aaronson, George Brookhart, Ellen Hemmerly, Danae McDevitt and Brian Wolfe.
