Charlestown Residents, Staff Welcome Home U.S. Troops

They gave goody bags to military heroes at BWI-Thurgood Marshall Airport.

CATONSVILLE, MD (December 22, 2015) – Sixteen Charlestown retirement community residents and staff (seen in photo) today were part of Operation Welcome Home, a group that gathers at BWI-Thurgood Marshall Airport to welcome home U.S. troops.

The Charlestown group raised $150 from employee and resident donations and purchased snacks to be put into goody bags that were given to the troops as a treat, since many of them were catching connecting flights before their final destination of “Home for the Holidays.”

In addition, residents and staff signed 200 Christmas cards to include in the goody bags with wonderful messages to the troops to thank them for their service to our country.
