- Police have confirmed that "multiple suspects" were taken into custody yesterday in connection with Tuesday afternoon's shooting at Catonsville High School. Information about the number of arrests or suspect identities has not yet been released. The shooting happened in the school parking lot after dismissal and at least one victim, a 16-year-old student, has been confirmed. However, there are some reports that claim a second victim was also involved. Grace Marsh told reporters that she "[thinks] that the school is going to have to recover...[and] a lot of people are going to be shaken up by it." (CBS Local)
- Following a string of Baltimore-area shootings, including this week's student shooting at CHS and last month's fatal shooting of Diamond Trueheart in a Catonsville shopping plaza, Republicans in the Maryland House of Delegates have indicated that they are fighting for a "tough anti-crime agenda" in the state. The house minority caucus held a hearing on public safety priorities yesterday, where Baltimore County Delegate Kathy Szeliga stated that "citizens in Maryland are counting on our public safety professionals to have all the tools and information possible to keep our communities safe." (WDVM)
- On Feb. 9, a Baltimore County resident won $100,000 from a scratch-off ticket purchased at MP Liquors on North Point Boulevard nearby Dundalk. The winner, a 69-year-old grandfather who wishes to remain anonymous, bought the Bingo X10 ticket for $10 when "something said to buy that game." There are three remaining unclaimed top prizes for Bingo X10, along with eight unclaimed $10,000 prizes and 22 $1,000 prizes. (News Break)
