- Baltimore County Police continue to investigate the 2009 Valentine's Day homicide of 22 year-old Towson University student Daniel Coverston, who was found in his apartment in the 7000 block of Lachlan Circle with a gunshot wound to the head. The last call David received was from a phone booth on Loch Raven Boulevard at Belvedere Avenue, detectives believe it might be a clue to the identity of the killer. Police ask anyone with information to contact Baltimore County Police Homicide detectives at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland. (Press Release Desk)
- The lower-level market and cafe of 818 Market opened late last week and began operating as "a deli and cafe and liquor store." The new management, Evan Brown and Keith Holsey, are also owners of local restaurants State Fare, Beaumont Steakhouse and El Guapo, under Catonsville Hospitality LLC. - Funeral Director Hari P. Close, a Community College of Baltimore County at Catonsville graduate and embalming teacher, has been a leading figure for morticians and funeral directors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hari, president of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association (NFDMA), lobbied for funeral directors to be among the first vaccinated, he taught safe embalming practices, and “he ensured that we all knew the steps that funeral homes should take at a national level.” (Baltimore Magazine)
