Here are the top three stories today in Catonsville:

  1. Albert “Al” Nalley, a 71-year-old retired Catonsville resident, is a Republican candidate for Baltimore County Council District 1. Nalley believes the most pressing issues in Baltimore County are education, crime, and fire services. He wants to remove "wokeism" from education and return to the "basics" of reading, writing, and math. The Catonsville resident wants to give the police additional vehicles and upgrade the Wilkens police station, as well as get a new fire station and additional volunteers for the Catonsville Fire Department. (Baltimore Sun)
  2. Aisha Khan, a 38-year-old entrepreneur and Catonsville resident, is a Democratic candidate for Maryland House District 44B. Khan owns and operates childcare centers in Catonsville and Woodlawn. She believes that food insecurity, economic mobility, quality education, and opioids are the most pressing issues in the district. The entrepreneur said, "As delegate, I will support and lead the progressive voice to ensure that working families and communities are at the forefront of every bill I vote on." (Capital Gazette)
  3. The Catonsville softball team won seven to zero against Perry Hall on Tuesday. Due to the win, the Comets will play in the regional finals against Dulaney. Catonsville senior pitcher Maggie Kreis pitched 14 strikeouts, a tie with her season-high. (Baltimore Sun)
