Electric Car Charging Stations Are in Catonsville, But Not Many Electric Cars

As more electric cars are expected to be on the market in 2012, there will need to be more places available to charge those cars.

In Catonsville, at least three charging stations are available for electric cars in the community, including , and the on Baltimore National Pike.

UMBC's car charging stations have been on campus since October 5. Signs around campus direct drivers to the stations, which are located by the warehouse at Poplar Avenue and Hilltop Road.

So far no one has actually plugged an electric car into the charging station, according to data from UMBC.

At CCBC, a car charging station was installed last year, but there has also been little activity at the station.

Also earlier this month, a car charging station was spotted at Walgreen's on Baltimore National Pike.
