Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:
- Civil rights activist DeRay McKesson, author of "On the Other Side of Freedom," and co-host of the award-winning podcast "Pod Save the People" with one million Twitter followers, graduated from Catonsville High School in 2003. While a CHS student, he served as the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper and student government president. CHS is where he first started representing and fighting for others, DeRay said. "It’s important to get involved wherever you can, no matter on what level. Catonsville High is where I got started with that," he continued. (Team BCPS)
- Catonsville High School's lacrosse goalkeeper, senior Brian Ruppel, was selected to compete in the 17th-annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Game on Jul. 30 at Homewood Field, located at Johns Hopkins University. The boys’ game will start at 8:00 p.m. and both the boy' and girls' games will air live on ESPNU. (Philly Lacrosse)
