- On Sunday afternoon, Mar. 5, there was a fatal shooting in the 4100 block of Wilkens Avenue only 2.8 miles away from Catonsville. Baltimore County police officers found the victim with at least one gunshot wound, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No other information has been released as of Mar. 6 and the investigation is ongoing. (CBS News)
- On Mar. 4, the Maryland Attorney General's Office announced that a man died of his injuries on Mar. 3 after he was shot by Baltimore County police detective J. Trenary on Jan. 31. According to the Maryland Attorney General's Office, the identity of the man will be made public at a later date. At the time of the shooting, officers were attempting to arrest two suspects, a male and a female, when the detective's vehicle was hit by the suspects' SUV near the intersection of Pulaski Highway and Ebenezer Road. Detective Trenary then fired his weapon into the SUV and hit the male suspect. Later, the suspects were arrested but the reason they were wanted before the chase is unclear. (CBS News)
- The Baltimore County Arts Guild is hosting Aikido classes at the Catonsville Clubhouse this month! The martial art classes will teach the flowing, circular movements characteristic of Aikido. The classes are open to all and will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Mondays in March. (Baltimore County Arts Guild via Instagram)
