- Baltimore County Public School teacher Craig Clontz was arrested on child pornography charges. The 49-year-old art teacher currently works at Stemmers Run Middle School in Essex and previously worked at Catonsville Middle School. Clontz has been placed on administrative leave after being charged with five counts of child pornography. As of Dec. 9, police officers said they don't believe the images recovered were of Baltimore County Public School students. Clontz is currently being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center. (CBS Baltimore)
- The Sylvan Learning Centers of Maryland will host the Toys for Tots book drive at its locations until Dec. 15. The Catonsville location, at 405 Frederick Road, will be one of the drop-off locations for the Toys for Tots literacy program. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
- The UMBC Retrievers of Catonsville are among the best teams in the nation and ranked eighth in the country in Division I. The team has scored 109 three-pointers in just ten games. Guard Jacob Boonyasith said, "We have weapons. The three-point shot is a valuable part of the game and we have guys on our team that are hunting threes." Guard Matteo Picarelli said there are "a lot of guys" on the team who can make three-point shots. (WMAR 2 News)
