Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:
- Due to the rising gas prices, Maryland will have a 30-day gas tax holiday from Mar. 18 through Apr. 16, affecting Catonsville residents. The gas tax is pre-paid by the retailers before they sell the gas, therefore the Comptroller’s office will issue refunds to these retail and wholesale sellers. And the sellers will then pass the savings to the customer. (Maryland Taxes)
- The Catonsville High School boys lacrosse team is moving from Class 4A to Class 3A for the 2022 season due to the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) reclassification. The move "has stockpiled Class 3A with several 4A powers." The Comets were ranked number 12 on the list of top 15 teams going into the new season. CHS senior goalie, Brian Ruppel, was named a "player to watch." (Baltimore Sun)
- Senior midfielder Samuel Jaudon, of Catonsville, helped lead St. Mary's College of Maryland men’s lacrosse team to victory by winning four of six face-offs at the X. The Seahawks won 14 to 13 against Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday night, Mar. 16. (The Southern Maryland Chronicle)
