Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:

  1. Prices in Maryland are continuing to rise, the Labor Department reported that inflation hit a new 40-year high in March 2022, jumping 8.5 percent over the previous 12 months. The price of all items has gone up 7.3 percent since March 2021 in the greater Baltimore-DC region, and experts say local residents should plan to spend more overall in 2022. They recommend combining errands into one trip to save on gas, searching for apps and digital coupon sites, and canceling or renegotiating subscription services to potentially save money.   2. At the 40 West Tennis Club in Catonsville, five gentlemen play tennis several times a week for the love of the game, fun, exercise, and camaraderie. Walter Koefler, 87, George Palahnuk, 84, Melvin Comet, 90, Laurence Bach, 80, and Eoin O’Colmen, 92, have 300 years of tennis experience between them.
