  1. The Maryland Office of the Public Defender's Juvenile Protection Division wrote a letter to Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski's office detailing the living conditions for juveniles in the Baltimore County Detention Center and asking for the juveniles to be immediately removed from the center. The conditions include being locked in their cells for 23 hours a day, rat-infested cells, limited access to showers, sleeping on floor mats, and cells that regularly flood with contaminated toilet water and debris. Olszewski's office responded, "Our administration is carefully reviewing the letter and the concerning allegations it raised. We will closely evaluate current policies and provide a thorough response." (WBAL)
  2. There was a great turnout for Baltimore's annual St. Patrick Parade on Mar. 12 in downtown Baltimore. Tom Dewberry and his 9-year-old granddaughter Presley Dixon, who both live in Catonsville, had front-row seats on N. Charles Street and their picture made it into Baltimore Sun! (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
  3. After more than 60 years, streetcar number 7350 was found in a ditch in a forest in Baltimore County. Ashley Sterner discovered the vintage Baltimore streetcar while hiking a few years ago. The mystery of how and why the streetcar ended up in the woods is still unsolved. (WYPR)
