  1. Governor-elect Wes Moore became Maryland’s 63rd governor and its first Black governor yesterday, Jan. 18. Local activists said this monumental achievement will pave the way for the Black community. While community leaders expressed their excitement, they want action behind Moore’s promise to the Black community. (WMAR 2 News)
  2. Catonsville Farmers Market opened yesterday, Jan. 18., offering farm-fresh, producer-only, seasonal products. The market is now operating every other week from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. through March. The next market will take place on Feb. 1. (Patch)
