Here are the top three stories today in Catonsville:
- Over the past six and a half years, the English-learner population has doubled in Baltimore County Public Schools. The Baltimore County Public Schools ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Welcome Center is in Catonsville, but according to Maryland State Superintendent Mohammed Choudhury, multilingual resources are lacking in the state. - Yesterday, Nov. 7, Dominic Kibby of Catonsville was named the FedEx Ground FCS National Freshman of the Week. According to the Presbyterian College (PC) football program website, Kibby's performance is one of the most exceptional by a first-year player in the 15-year PC NCAA Division I history. He has hauled in 34 receptions for a total of 692 yards and six trips to the end zone. (Gobluehose.com)
- A Catonsville High School resource officer was recently recognized by the Baltimore County Council. Baltimore County Police Department School Resource Officer (SRO) Z.
