The assassination of right-wing podcaster Charlie Kirk cast an ominous "State of the Union" verdict that demands our attention.
Kirk said gun deaths are worth it in order to have the the 2nd Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. He said gay people should be stoned to death. He said he would force his 10 -year-old daughter to give birth if she ever became pregnant. He called George Floyd a "scumbag."
Trump announced he will posthumously award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Trump also ordered American flags to be at half-staff in honor of Kirk.
We are living in a dystopian nightmare where hatred and bigotry are becoming normalized. The only hope for our nation's survival is that it is not sustainable.
