Police Seek Identity of Man Who Robbed Comfort Inn in Catonsville

Man also attempted to rob the Macy's at Security Square Mall.

Baltimore County Police are looking for a man who robbed the Comfort Inn on Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville late last month.

According to police, the man entered the hotel located on the 5600 block of Baltimore National Pike on Aug. 26 at 9:20 p.m. He implied to the clerk behind the counter that he had a gun and demanded all the money in the cash register. He then order the clerk to the ground and ran out of the hotel.

Also on Sept. 1 at 9:10 p.m., police believe the same suspect approached a clerk at a register in Macy's in Security Square Mall in Woodlawn with an item for purchase. When clerk began to ring it up, he demanded money from the cashier. She was able to run away and the suspect did not get any money.

Police were able to get surveillance footage from both incidents, which led them to believe the same man is responsible. Police describe the suspect as a black man between 40 and 50 years old who is 5 feet 10 inches tall. He weighs 160 pounds with dark complexion and short hair.
