Sexual Assault Should Not be Politicized
Pedophiles, Rapists and Sexual Predators Must be Punished
Forgotten in news media coverage of President Trump's alleged involvement in Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking are the estimated 1,000 victims, the underage girls who were raped.
This matter -- if it ends in zero prosecutions -- will result in normalization of the most sordid degradation of young girls and women imaginable.
The following statistics demand punishment for sexual predators, pedophiles and rapists.
A Bureau of Justice Statistics report shows 1.6 % (sixteen out of one thousand) of children between the ages of 12-17 were victims of rape/sexual assault.
A study conducted in 1986 found that 63% of women who had suffered sexual abuse by a family member also reported a rape or attempted rape after the age of 14. Recent studies in 2000, 2002, and 2005 have all concluded similar results
Victims should immediately report sexual abuse to the police by calliing 911. They should also call the 988 Lifeline for judgment-free care. Talking with someone can help save lives.
Sexual abuse should not be allowed to be be politicized by Trump or by anyone else.
