Six Mile Coffee to Close This Week
Sales were not at strong as expected at the Frederick Road gathering spot.

Less than a year after it opened in a newly renovated building at 609 Frederick Road, Six Mile Coffee is closing up shop on Thursday.
The news was first announced on Facebook and Twitter Monday morning. Owner Chris Sikora told Patch Monday night that the sales at the store were never as strong as they were expected to be.
"We weren't coming close to our projections," he said.

When the store opened at the end of October it drew in the number of customers projected on the first day, Sikora said. But it never reached that goal again, despite the estimated 25,000 cars that travel Frederick Road every day. The shop also had a drive-through window.
Sikora said he still felt the location was great and he was always happy with the building, which included a mural and downstairs seating area that was designed and renovated by students.Â

"I still love the town," he said of Catonsville. "I think it's a great town."
Sikora will still own and operate Sweet Bakery, which moved from Ellicott City to 239 W. Read Street in Baltimore this year.
