- On Tuesday, Apr. 26, Williams met with superintendents from five other school districts to discuss possible solutions for the recent violent incidents in Maryland schools, including the shooting at Catonsville High School. In the meeting, Williams confirmed Baltimore County's support of school resource officers (SROs) and announced the launch of a pilot program in the fall which will use "student safety assistants." Williams said, "These are not hall monitors. These are not safety guards. These are persons who build relationships with students. But who also know about strategies, classroom management, de-escalation skills or problem-solving and kind of mentor and even bring in groups of students to try and resolve an issue." (WBAL TV Baltimore)
- On Wednesday, Apr. 27, students completed this year's final session of the Baltimore Ravens High School Leadership Institute. Baltimore City and County high school students are selected by their schools to join the program, which teaches them how to become leaders and productive members of their communities. Tushar Passi, a junior at Catonsville High School, said, "We’ve been basically learning how to lead yourself, lead others and lead your community." (CBS Baltimore)
