Here are the top three stories today in Catonsville:
- Catonsville will host two concert events on May 14, 2022. The free and family-friendly "Mini Mardi Gras" celebration at the Lurman Woodland Theatre will have live music by Rufus Roundtree & Da Bmore Brass Factory. Advanced registration is required. The "2022 Sun Scape Live Festival," from noon until 11:00 p.m., will be located at State Fare and Catonsville Square. There will be two festival stages with many bands performing, including Crack the Sky. Tickets are on sale now and a portion of the net proceeds will go to the Children’s Home of Catonsville and the Ronald McDonald House. (Baltimore Sun)
- On May 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., CCBC will host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the CCBC Catonsville campus. COVID-19 booster shots and first/second vaccine doses of Pfizer will be available. Those planning to attend must register online in advance. (CCBC MD)
- Adele Jones, a 17-year-old Catonsville senior, is an attacker for the varsity girls lacrosse team and a talented artist. Catonsville coach Cantey Bailey said, "She’s definitely one of our top scorers." In the 10 games she has played for the Comets, she has scored 25 goals and had 11 assists. Coach Bailey said Jones "is like a leader with her presence and she has really taken on that leadership role." Jones' put it simply, "Lacrosse is just my favorite thing." (Baltimore Sun)

- Yesterday, the Baltimore County Fire Department (BCoFD) Honor Guard traveled to New York City for the LODD funeral of New York City Fire Department (FDNY) Fire Fighter Timothy Klein, who died this week fighting a Brooklyn house fire.
