  1. After a report on issues with Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) retiree benefits, district leadership is expected to discuss the situation with a representative for retired employees. BCPS did not confirm the meeting, but according to a member of the Teachers Association of Baltimore County (TABCO) committee, BCPS Deputy Superintendent Dr. Myriam Yarborough was scheduled to meet with the Chair of the retired committee of the TABCO on Friday morning.   2. The Catonsville High School Steel Band will present CHS Steel Live! on Friday, Mar. 18, 2022, at 7 p.m. CHS Steel Live! is a concert featuring the CHS Steel Band plus Liam Teague, a Trinidadian steel pan virtuoso and steel band arranger. CHS Steel is celebrating its 30th anniversary and is known for being one of the first public school steelpan ensembles in the state of Maryland. (Catonsville High School)
  3. The Baltimore County Fire Department has promoted April Owens to the rank of captain, making her the first Black woman to obtain the rank. Owen was a lieutenant prior to her promotion and she served as a cadet with the Baltimore City Fire Department before ultimately joining the Baltimore County Fire Department. (Patch)
