5 Things You Need to Know Today: The Mid-Week Edition

Happy Wednesday afternoon, College Park! Here's your mid-week rundown of what you need to know on this particularly lovely day:
1. Prince George's County will soon become home to Metro area's fourth Busboys and Poets. The renowned D.C. restaurant and arts space will be opening its next set of doors in Hyattsville's EYA Arts District in the coming month. In the meantime, check out Elevation Burger and Yogi Castle for your fill of summer treats.
2. The county's public outdoor pools will open for summer on Saturday, and not a moment too soon - the weather is expected to crawl into the 80s and stay there for the foreseeable future. is the only location in College Park, but check out some of the others around the county if you're looking for a change of scenery.

3. What College Park lost in University of Maryland students at the semester's end last week, it will soon gain in young brainiacs from around the world. The campus will play host to the Odyssey of the Mind 2011 World Finals on Friday through Monday.
4. Adele's Restaurant at UMd. will be closed Thursday for a private event. On the bright side, Mulligan's Grill and the Stamp Food Court will be open.

5. is hosting its inaugural "Karaoke Nite" Wednesday evening between 7 and 10 p.m. Head on over and attempt to mimic what Whitney Houston would sound like singing "I Will Always Love You" through a mouthful of chicken.
