August has arrived—and with it some excellent offerings from the Farmers Market at Maryland.
Drop by the front of the Cole Student Activities Building Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a selection of fresh, local fare, including heirloom tomatoes from Valencia's Produce.

- Bonaparte Breads: Bread and French pastries
- Upper Crust Bakery: Freshly baked breads
- McLeaf's Orchard: New this week—ginger gold apples, freestone peaches, tomatillos, golden beets, okra, cantaloupes, and sweet potato leaves; end of lettuce (until September) and pristine apples
- Picnic Gourmet Spreads: Gourmet sweet and savory cheese spreads
- Springfield Lamb of Kent County, Maryland: Lamb and sheep products
- Valencia's Produce: New this week—three varieties of heirloom field tomatoes, okra, minerva melons, and eight varieties of peppers
- Whipple Farms: Heirloom watermelon
Prince George's County Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer questions about starting or maintaining a garden.
