$1M Winning Scratch-Off Ticket Stuns Truck Driver Who First Threw It Away
A Columbia truck driver who tossed out a ticket he thought wasn't a winner was shocked when he grabbed his discarded ticket for a 2nd glance
COLUMBIA, MD — A local truck driver who bought a Monopoly X100 scratch-off ticket almost threw away his future when he tossed a ticket he thought wasn't a winner.
The Columbia truck driver stopped by the Travel Centers of America rest stop in Elkton to buy a replacement wiper blade and a cup of coffee. He snagged some lottery tickets, including the Monopoly game. After he tossed the ticket, he doubted himself and reached back into trash to grab the ticket and give it a second glance. He scanned the ticket and saw the message "See Lottery."
A quick visit to lottery headquarters revealed his ticket was worth $1 million. He told Maryland Lottery officials he isn't sure what he'll do with his big winnings.
