Flash Flood Watch Issued For MD, Heavy Rains Forecast
A second day of rain has seven Maryland counties under a flash flood watch, the National Weather Service said Tuesday.
MARYLAND â A second day of rain has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood watch for parts of Maryland, D.C. and Northern Virginia Tuesday. Hourly rainfall rates of 1.5 to 2 inches are possible in the heaviest downpours.
"Flash flooding will be possible Tuesday afternoon into the early evening, particularly for areas which were hit on Monday by very heavy rainfall," the NWS said in issuing the watch.
In Maryland, Anne Arundel, Howard, Montgomery, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's and Baltimore counties are under the watch from 2 to 8 p.m.

"Given the antecedent conditions in place across portions of the D.C. metro area, additional heavy rainfall today will enhance the threat for further flash flooding issues," the National Weather Service said. "Thunderstorms may be slow to move initially before becoming more progressive later in the afternoon."
