Maryland's Next Chance For Snow Comes On Super Bowl Sunday: Weather Forecast
A cold front will reach Maryland this weekend and spark snow on Super Bowl Sunday after highs in the mid-50s on Friday and Saturday: NWS.
MARYLAND — The rest of the work week and Saturday won't feel much like winter across Maryland with highs in the 50s, but snow could arrive on Super Bowl Sunday, forecasters say.
Temperatures could approach 60 degrees on Friday and Saturday before the cold air moves into the state.
The National Weather Service said the strong cold front is expected to reach Maryland on Saturday evening. "Still monitoring an area of low pressure for this weekend," the weather service tweeted Wednesday.

"Some models show the chance of snow Saturday night as temperatures fall through the 30s and potentially into the 20s, with a continued chance of snow on Sunday and much colder highs only in the 30s to near 40," the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang reported Wednesday. "Doesn't look like a big storm at this point, but some accumulation is possible."
AccuWeather said its meteorologists are keeping a close eye on a new blast of Arctic air and a potential winter storm along the East Coast that may occur on Sunday in the Baltimore-D.C. region and on Valentine's Day in the Northeast.

"Even though the anticipated cold is expected to fall short of recent Arctic blasts, the dramatic change in temperatures could add to the shock value of the burst of wintry weather," AccuWeather meteorologist Bernie Rayno said in a statement Wednesday.
"The transition to colder weather also could set the stage for a storm to develop, strengthen and then attempt a northward turn over the western Atlantic from later this weekend to Monday, Valentine's Day," he said.
